MQR Cafe

Had a great first visit to MQR Cafe on Columbia Pike! This place was packed on Sunday afternoon, and for good reason. Sadly, the Dubai Chocolate Latte sold out just as we arrived, but everything else we tried was fantastic—the Harissa B.E.C., Harissa fries, Kunafa Toast, Eggs Platter, and iced Pistachio Latte were all delicious. The food was so good that we couldn’t help but eyeball what everyone else had ordered. We’ll definitely be back to try the rest of their menu.

I visited on a Sunday and the sweet plates at this cafe are honestly probably one of the best I’ve had in the DMV area. The Dubai cake and Kunafa French toast were absolutely delicious! I’m not a big fan of overly sweetened desserts but MQR does it right! The items were sweet but not too sweet! I ordered the French toast to go and it was still so delicious so I can’t even imagine how much more delicious it will be when dining in. I’ll have to make a visit back for the chopped cheese as well!

Wow. My foodie friend turned me onto this place. He was on point, it's really great. I had the Mediterranean chopped cheese and was floored at how good it was. I don't know that pairing it with a pistachio latte was an obvious choice, but that latte was delicious and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. I'll come back!

I’ve been here twice already with friends, and both times the food has been amazing! First of all really appreciate going to a cafe that has as many savory items as they do sweet options. The labneh toast was great for a healthier and lighter meal, and super fresh. But omg the Mediterranean chopped cheese sub was amazing, they definitely packed in the flavor and did not skimp on the meat or any other ingredients. Will literally be back just for that. I also really liked their seasonal refresher drinks, I think it was passion fruit most recently. So definitely recommend checking it out and supporting local!

This place is amazing!! The food is delicious, especially the chopped cheese and the smokey pastrami. The flavors were so good, and it was cooked perfectly. The coffee is delicious as well, and Sabrina was super sweet and took great care of my order. Will definitely be coming back here!

This place makes me wants to move to Annandale! They open late today because of Ramadan. They have such a yummy selection of food I just want to try everything! This place is a small restaurant, not too big but it’ll be perfect for a breakfast date! Service was amazing! The server was so sweet and friendly. I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries! Fries were crispy, hot, cook to perfection! Burger were great too! I’m OBSSESSED with the pistachio latte/coffee because it’s not too sweet, and it is DELICIOUS! The beef bacon were crunchy and delicious. The kunafa french toast... WHAT is this? because i’m also addicted! It is not too sweet but also have a side of sweetener syrup in case you want it to be sweeter. It’s so fluffy and creamy inside and soft, I was in heaven! I will deff come back here to try all the other menu items!

We really enjoyed the food here, particularly the sandwiches (harissa turkey & Mediterranean chopped cheese), and the biscoff lattes were delish. Grateful for the halal meat! The staff were super friendly, and the vibe was really great. Only thing we missed was a side with the sandwiches, some chips or fries would’ve made it perfect. Definitely coming back!

It was so nice to see another halal cafe in NoVa! When we walked in, the store was packed to the brim, but they still had nice stool seating in the hallway that offered a nice, quiet space away from the main eating area. The most impressive thing here was the service. Despite every single seat filling up and a neverending line, the staff were fulfilling orders at lightning speed and good quality too, along with excellent customer service despite the immense pressure they were under. One of our burgers came a little underdone and despite the rush, they still took it back and fixed it in no time. In terms of the food, the quality was very good. The best items we thought were the Mediterranean Chopped Cheese and the Chicken Schnitzel. The burgers and egg with halloumi were good quality but nothing special. They had amazing portion sizes, especially with the fries, and the za'atar fries were great. As for the drinks, the specialty drinks didn't have too much of a unique flavor, especially the pistachio (the Biscoff had a hint of flavor) and the level of sweetness ran a little low, but they were still good quality drinks. They did have alternate milk options for anyone lactose intolerant. I didn't have a chance to taste the desserts, but they had a nice selection from what I observed. All in all, I'm glad to see this place thriving. Great customer service and good quality food, so I fully intend to return and recommend especially for someone who wants to grab a bite with their drink.
